MPA News and Announcements.

Until further notice: The claim sharing agreement with the Nevada prospecting club has been suspended.

Trespassing complaint: On January 12th the club Pres. received a complaint from one of the land owners that border our claim #28 in Gold Basin. It seems that some unidentified club members have been trespassing on their private property. This makes us all look bad. Please stay on our claims or BLM land that is not actively claimed. If you enter private property without the owner’s permission, you can be arrested for trespassing.
Please refer to our

March outings: There will be 2 outings this month. The first will be on 3/16 and the other will be on the 3/23. Meet us at the intersection of Stockton Hill Rd. and Pierce Ferry Rd. before 9:00 am, we leave for the claim at 9:05 am. These will be dry washing and metal detecting outings on claim #28.

February’s outing will be on the 16th. Meet us at the intersection East of I-40 and Shinarump Rd. (Exit 44) before 9:00 am, we leave for the claim at 9:05 am. This will be a teaching outing at our Griffith Wash Claim. Learn how to find gold in the desert, how to sample a wash for gold and how to use a bucket top classifier to remove the larger rocks. We will show and explain how to operate a puffer dry washer and a leaf blower dry washer, then learn how to do a clean up, pan the concentrates and collect the gold. See how a recirculating sluice works when the ground is too wet to run a dry washer. Then we will talk a little about the use of metal detectors and desert prospecting safety and etiquette.
